This week stock market is giving some good family time to its investors. Most of the people are concerned whether or not the stock market will be open or closed however, the stock market will remain closed on New year’s eve(31/12/2022), new year day(01/01/2023) and the day after the new year (02/01/ 2023), stock market now will open on 03/01/2023 after 3 long festival days.
STOCK MARKET AND BANK OPENING TIMINGS
New York stock exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ will be closed from 31/12/2022 to 02/01/2023. People won’t be able to trade in these three days moreover, the market will open on 03/01/2023 at normal trading hours, not only stock market also, banks and post offices will remain closed until 03/01/2023 as its considered as bank holiday.
New Year’s Day celebrations usually begin the evening prior on New Year’s Eve, as many celebrate the countdown to midnight, when the new year officially begins. Many will come together to have a special meal or enjoy a party.
Then, as midnight approaches, various festivities take place around the world. In New York City, the famous Times Square ball will drop, counting down to midnight, filling the air with confetti. Around the world, amazing fireworks displays will go off, such as the famous Burj Khalifa fireworks show in Dubai, or the South Bank fireworks show in London. Many couples share a kiss as the clock hits midnight to bring in the new year. Others call their friends and family to wish them a sweet new year, and still others sing Auld Lang Syne.
HOLIDAY’S THAT STOCK MARKET WILL BE CLOSED
The upcoming holiday will be Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, which is on January 16 2023. The stock market is usually closed on Nine holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (with an early close at 1 pm EST on the following day, also known as Black Friday), and Christmas Day.
