China’s market regulator said Friday recalling 80,000 Tesla cars in China for seat-belt and software issues.

Out of a total of 67,698 cars produced between September 25, 2013 and November 21, 2020, the Model X and Model S are recalled in China. China told the market administration.

The reason for recalling these vehicles is that there is a software issue affecting the battery management system of the vehicle. Hence these vehicles are being recalled to resolve the software issue and upgrade the software free of cost.

Tesla recalls 2,736 Tesla Model 3 vehicles made between January 2019 and November 2019 and also recalled 10,127 Chinese cars of the same model manufactured between October 14, 2019 and September 26, 2022. This was the reason for the installation of faulty seat belts in the form of zones that Tesla will investigate. and reinstall, it said.

Tesla recalled 127,785 vehicles in April over a defect in its semiconductor components that could cause a crash.
